2003 German Grand Prix. Colin Edwards narrowly escaped injury after his Aprilia RS3 Cube goes up in flames. The RS3, an in-line triple, was technically advanced but difficult to ride having a tendency to wheelie easily, a lack of front-end feel, vibration from both the front and rear wheels, and unpredictable response from its fly-by-wire throttle system. The engine was considered the most powerful at that time, producing about 240 bhp. According to Edwards, the bike was simply "born bad."

After years of fighting for equality, European women will be finally getting equality, but it's not what they wanted. The European courts have ruled that lower motorcycle (and car) insurance for women is illegal and constitutes a discrimination; towards men.
So, starting the 21st of December 2012, women will be paying more for their insurance, some up to 40% more, bringing them to the same level as men. It doesn't matter that female riders are safer and have fewer accidents then men, it's a discrimination. So have ruled the courts.
IMHO, it also means that the courts should rule out higher insurance fees towards drunks, since that's discrimination as well...but then who am I? Not a scholar... I bet you the insurance companies are happy.
