Early hot rodders had a hard sell to convince the Men In Blue they we're just ordinary kids out to have fun. So they became safety ambassadors like this group from Meriden, CT.

Founded in 1960, as the Meriden Road Lancers, we were just a bunch of young guys with a common interest in Hot Rods! The club lasted until 1965, with a peak of 25 members, when we disbanded temporarially due to everyone going their separate ways, including marriage, army, call of duty, etc.

In 2000, the club was reunited as the Connecticut Road Lancers by 4 of the original members; Fred Esbaner, Sal Giacco, Felix Woronick, and Richard Bubello. Joining the four original members, an additional eight new members were added to the club. After the untimely passing of two members and the lack of time experienced by two others, the club found itself four members short, leaving us with ten dependable members. We have recently welcomed more members to our club, bringing membership to a total of twelve. Still going strong, the Lancers are looking forward to their upcoming cruisin' season!
