"The banked German Avus track was known for it’s high speed, so Ferrari commissioned Cesare Pallavicino from the Breda Aircraft Company to design a streamline body for one of the Alfa Romeo P3’s. “Guy” Moll would drive this special “Aerodinamica” for Scuderia Ferrari… http://automobiliart.blogspot.com/2010/09/avus-formule-libre-race-1934.html

New See Through Michelin Tire With No Value Stems and No Air!
The U.S. Military is seemingly always looking for a better technology, a better way for our troops. Announcing a new airless tire. I got a hold of some actual pictures in a South Carolina plant.
Wow, no value stem, no air, and I can see through it
They have been testing these for several years now. Resilient Tech was developing them for the military application.
Just think of the impact on existing technology:
A. no more air valves…
B. no more air compressors at gas stations…
C. no more repair kits…
D. no more flats…
This design reminds me of the 1959 Movie featuring the Ben Hur Chariot
Yes, those are ‘spoke’ like connections to the inner part of the tire from the outside tread ‘wrap!’
This picture shows how odd the tire appears with virtually no rubber in motion over a bump… wonder how the ride feels?
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.
