THIS IS THE REAL DEAL FOLKS; THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A CHIP FOOSE DESIGNED 1932 FORD ROADSTER. THIS IS A TRUE MUSEUM QUALITY CAR THAT WAS BUILT USING ALL THE FINEST QUALITY PARTS AVAILABLE. THE QUALITY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL SHOWS THRU-OUT THE ENTIRE BUILD. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CURRENT FINANCIAL SITUATION ALLOWS YOU TO BID ON THIS VEHICLE.

WE ALL KNOW CHIP FOOSE IS ONE OF THE BEST AUTO DESIGNERS IN THE HOT ROD COMMUNITY. THIS ROADSTER WAS DESIGNED BY CHIP FOOSE. IN FACT THIS WAS THE VERY FIRST CAR HE DESIGNED WHEN HE LEFT BOYD CODDINGTON. HERE IS HOW THE PROJECT CAME ABOUT. IN 1997 BOYD CODDINGTON WENT BANKRUPT AND DID NOT HAVE MONEY TO PAY HIS EMPLOYEES. THE BANK OFFERED THE CHASSIS TO CHIP AS HIS LAST PAYCHECK. CHIP NEEDED MONEY MORE THAN THE CHASSIS BECAUSE HE WAS STARTING HIS SHOP. RELUCTANTLY CHIP TOOK THE CHASSIS AND ENDED UP CONTACTING THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE CAR WHO WAS ALREADY A BOYD CUSTOMER. HE TOLD HIM THAT IF HE PURCHASED THE CHASSIS THAT HE WOULD NOT ONLY DESIGN HIS CAR BUT HE WOULD WORK WITH MARCEL AND GABE TO ENSURE THAT A FINE QUALITY ROADSTER EMERGED WHEN THE DUST SETTLED. THE DEAL WAS DONE AND WHAT YOU SEE TODAY IS THE RESULT. WE ALSO HAVE THE ORIGINAL FULL SIZE CONCEPTIONAL DRAWING OF THE CAR FROM CHIP FOOSE THAT MARCEL USED IN HIS SHOP TO BUILD THE BODY (see pics).
WE PURCHASED THE CAR DIRECTLY FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER WHO IS ONE OF OUR LONG TERM CUSTOMERS. HE IS A 77 YEAR OLD CAR COLLECTOR THAT STORES HIS CARS IN A CLIMATE CONTROLLED AIRPLANE HANGER. THIS CAR TOOK OVER 3 YEARS TO BUILD AND WAS FINISHED IN LATE OF 2000. THE CAR SHOWS ONLY 3 ACTUAL MILES. THAT IS NOT A TYPO THE CAR ONLY HAS 3 MILES. THE CAR COMES WITH A CLEAN AND CLEAR ARIZONA TITLE THAT SHOWS NO BANK LIENS. THE CAR IS TITLED WITH AN ARIZONA SPECIAL CONTRUCTION TITLE. IT IS REGISTERED AS A 1932 SPCON FORD RD.

THE POWERPLANT IS A GM 350ci LT4 TPI FUEL INJECTED SMALL BLOCK ENGINE THAT IS BACKED BY A GM 700R4 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THAT POWER IS TRANSFERED TO THE PAVEMENT BY THE BOYDS INDEPENDENT FORD 9 INCH REAR END. THE MOTOR WAS SENT TO TPI INDUSTRIES TO HAVE THE NECCASRY PERFORMANCE UPGRADES INSTALLED. THEY MASSAGED THE MOTOR WITH A MILD CAM AND THROTTLE BODY UPGRADE. THE MOTOR ALSO FEAUTRES A TPI INDUSTRIES FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC FUEL PUMP, K&N HIGH FLOW FILTER AND A SET OF TAYLOR PLUG WIRES. THERE ARE PLENTY OF EYE CATCHING PARTS ON THE ENGINE INCLUDING THE ONE OFF CHIP FOOSE DESIGNED FULL LENGTH ENGINE COVER, COLOR MATCHED ENGINE BLOCK, SATIN FINISH HEADS, ONE OFF COLOR MATCHED VALVE COVERS, ONE OFF BRUSHED ALUMINUM VALVE COVER INSERTS, ONE OFF BRUSHED ALUMINUM OIL CAP, BRUSHED ALUMINUM PLUG WIRE HOLDERS, SATIN FINISH ALTERNATOR, COLOR MATCHED STARTER AND A SET OF BRUSHED ALUMINUM PULLEYS AND BRACKETS. THE CAR IS COOLED VIA THE CUSTOM RON DAVIS ALUMINUM RADIATOR FEATURING A BRUSHED ALUMINUM FILLER CAP, ELECTRIC FAN AND A BRUSHED ALUMINUM OVERFLOW CATCH CANISTER. THE EXHAUST SYSTEM STARTS WITH THE STAINLESS STEEL STREET AND PERFORMANCE BLOCK HUGGER HEADERS WHICH FEED INTO THE STAINLESS STEEL DUAL 2.5” EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH STAINLESS STEEL MUFFLERS. THE ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM FROM THE MANIFOLDS TO THE REAR OF THE CAR IS BRUSHED FINISH STAINLESS STEEL. THE EXHAUST SOUNDS CLEAN AND IS NOT OVERPOWERING. THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS AMAZING AND FEATURES A SMOOTHED FIREWALL. ALL THE WIRING IS TIDY JUST THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. THIS ROADSTER STARTS RIGHT AWAY AND IDLES INSTANTLY. THIS CAR HAS BEEN STARTED MONTHLY BUT HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN A TOTAL OF 3 MILES.

THE EXTERIOR OF THIS ROADSTER IS A TESTIMENT TO CLEAN STYLING AND BOLD BODY LINES. THIS IS A MARCEL DELAY HANDBUILT BODY THAT WAS BUILT IN CALIFORNIA. THE BODY IS AN ALL STEEL TUB, STEEL GRILLE SHELL, STRETCHED ALUMINUM HOOD, STRETCHED ALUMINUM HOOD SIDE PANELS, STEEL DOORS AND A STEEL TRUNK LID. ALL THE PARTS WERE CREATED BY MARCEL IN HIS SHOP. THE BODY FEATURES SUICIDE DOORS, SHAVED HANDLES, CUSTOM DAN FINK STAINLESS STEEL GRILLE INSERT, HAND BUILT DENNY HEAPY CUSTOM WINDSHIELD, CUSTOM PIAA HEADLAMPS AND A PAIR OF HAND BUILT DENNY HEAPY LED TAIL LAMPS. THE METAL WORK IS ALL TOP QUALITY AND SHOWS NO FLAWS.

THE TWO TONE PAINT JOB ON THIS ROADSTER IS UNREAL. THE PAINT JOB WAS PERFORMED BY DENNY HEAPY IN MINNESOTA. THE BODY WAS FINAL PREPPED, SEALED AND THEN SPRAYED WITH A BRIGHT SILVER BASE COAT WITH A VIBRANT PURPLE TWO TONE. THE TWO TONE PAINT IS SEPERATED BY A MEDIUM SILVER BAND WITH LIME GREEN AND LIGHT PURPLE ACCENTS. THE PAINT WAS THEN SEALED BELOW LAYERS OF CLEAR COAT TO ENSURE A SMOOTH FINISH. THIS PAINT JOB WAS PERFORMED USING QUALITY PPG FINISHES. THE CAR IS LASER STRAIGHT AND THE BODY GAPS ARE PERFECT. THE CAR HAS AGED WELL SHOWING ONLY A FEW MINOR “HANDLING” CHIPS DUE TO AGE AND NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR (see pics). REST ASSURED THE PAINT LOOKS AMAZING AND NOTHING TAKES AWAY FROM THE OVERALL LOOK OF THE CAR.

THE INTERIOR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY HAND FABRICATED AND IS 100% REAL LEATHER. THE NEW INTERIOR WAS STITCHED BY GABES CUSTOM INTERIOR IN CALIFORNIA. THE NEW DOOR PANELS, KICK PANELS, QUARTER PANELS, BENCH SEAT, CENTER CONSULE AND TRUNK PANELS WERE ALL HAND BUILT. THE STAFF AT GABES DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ON THE CUSTOM INTERIOR.

THE INTERIOR FEATURES A HAND FORMED BENCH SEAT, BRUSHED ALUMINUM 2 BAR STEERING WHEEL W/ CARBON FIBER TRIM, COLOR MATCHED CUSTOM STEERING COLUMN, BRUSHED ALUMINUM TURN SIGNAL ARM, COLOR MATCHED DASHBOARD, HAND BUILT DENNY HEAPY BRUSHED ALUMINUM DASH TRIM, HAND BUILT DENNY HEAPY BRUSHED ALUMINUM OVAL GAUGE CLUSTER, AUTOMETER SILVER FACE GAUGES, DIGITAL ODOMETER, HAND BUILT DENNY HEAPY CARBIN FIBER WINDSHIELD TRIM, HAND BUILT DENNY HEAPY CARBON FIBER REAR VIEW MIRROR, LOKAR BRAKE PEDAL, LOKAR GAS PEDAL, LOKAR SHIFTER, ONE PIECE CENTER CONSOLE SIGNED BY CHIP FOOSE, SUICIDE DOOR SAFETY LOCKS, HAND BUILT DENNY HEAPY CARBON FIBER DOOR SILL PANELS AND DUAL RETRACTING SEAT BELTS. THE FINISHING TOUCH TO THE INTERIOR IS THE GERMAN SQUARE WEAVE CARPET WITH A PAIR OF REMOVABLE ONE PIECE EDGE BOUND GERMAN SQUARE WEAVE FLOOR MATS. THE INTERIOR SHOWS AMAZING CONDITION WITH NO SIGNS OF ABUSE.

THIS CAR HAS A COMPLETE WORKING HOWELL WIRING HARNESS. THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS CAR IS THAT THE HEAD LAMPS, TAIL LAMPS, TURN SIGNALS, DASH LIGHTS, FUEL GAUGE, OIL GAUGE, TACHOMETER, SPEEDOMETER AND ENGINE COOLING FAN ALL WORK CORRECTLY.

THE TRUNK IS CLEAN AND FEATURES A MATCHING GABE INTERIOR. THE TRUNK LID OPENS USING THE MANUAL RELEASE HANDLE THAT IS LOCATED UNDER THE REAR ROLL PAN. THE TRUNK LID HAS A SLIDE LOCK TO HOLD THE LID OPEN. THE TRUNK HOUSES THE 18 GALLON STAINLESS STEEL GAS TANK AND THE FUEL FILLER. THERE IS ALSO A BATTERY DISCONNECT LOCATED IN THE TRUNK FOR SAFTEY. THE TRUNK PANELS FEATURE THE SAME GABE INTERIOR DESIGN. THE MATCHING GERMAN SQUARE WEAVE CARPET COMPLETES THE TRUNK.

THE CHASSIS IS THE ORIGINAL BOYD CODDINGTON UNIT THAT STARTED THIS WHOLE PROJECT. THE FRAME FEATURES A CUSTOM 6 INCH STRETCH AND HAS BEEN PINCHED TO 20 INCHES AT THE GRILLE SHELL. THE FRAME ALSO FEATURES CUSTOM CROSSMEMBERS, BOXED CONSTRUCTION, SMOOTHED SEAMS AND HAS BEEN COLORMATCHED TO THE CAR. THE FRONT OF THE CAR HAS A BOYD CODDINGTON INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION. THE FRONT SUSPENSION IS COMPLETELY BRUSHED NICKLE PLATED AND FEATURES BRUSHED FINISH CONTROL ARMS, COLOR MATCHED RACK/PINION, BRUSHED FINISH COIL OVER SHOCKS AND A PAIR OF BRUSHED WILWOOD 4 PISTON CHROME BRAKE CALIPERS, BRUSHED CROSS DRILLED/SLOTTED ROTORS AND A PAIR OF BRUSHED FINISH BAKING PLATES. THE REAR OF THE CAR HAS A BOYD CODDINGTON INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION. THE REAR SUSPENSION IS COMPLETELY BRUSHED NICKLE PLATED AND FEATURES BRUSHED FINISH ARMS, BRUSHED FINISH FORD 9 INCH CARRIER, INLAND DRIVELINE CARBON FIBER AXLES, 3.08 GEAR RATIO W/ POSI, DUAL BRUSHED COIL OVER SHOCKS AND A PAIR OF INBOARD WILWOOD 4 PISTON CHROME BRAKE CALIPERS. THE DRIVE LINE FEATURES AN INLAND DRIVELINE CARBON FIBER 3 INCH DRIVE SHAFT WITH HEAVY DUTY U-JOINTS. THE BRAKE MASTER CYCLINDER IS INVERTED UNDER THE DASH FOR AN EXTRA CLEAN CHASSIS. ALL OF THE BRAKE LINES ARE BRUSHED FINISH STAINLESS STEEL WITH THRU BODY FITTINGS AND FLEXIBLE STAINLESS STEEL BRAIDED LINES TO THE CALIPERS. THE CAR STOPS GREAT WITH NO PULLS, VIBRATIONS OR LANE CHANGES. THE STEERING FUNCTIONS SMOOTHLY. THE CAR HAS A BRAND NEW HIDDEN OPTIMA GEL CEL BATTERY WITH BATTERY DISCONNECT LOCATED IN THE TRUNK. THIS CAR IS A PLEASURE TO DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 70 MPH. IT IS EXTREMELY WELL ENGINEERED AND DOES NOT DO ANYTHING THAT WOULD MAKE ANYONE UNCOMFORTABLE.

THIS ROADSTER FEATURES A SET OF BRUSHED ALUMINUM BOYD CODDINGTON STAGGERED SIZE WHEELS. THE FRONT TIRES ARE BFGOODRICH COMP T/A 225/50ZR16 AND THE REAR TIRES ARE BFGOODRICH COMP T/A 295/45ZR18. THE TIRES ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION SHOWING 100% TREAD LIFE LEFT WITH THE ORIGINAL TREAD NIPPLES (see pics).

THIS ROADSTER WOULD TAKE $175,000 TO DUPLICATE WITH NO QUESTION. IF YOU JUST ADDED THE TOTAL FOR THE FOOSE DESIGN (30K), MARCEL STEEL BODY (40k), GABE'S INTERIOR (20K), DENNY’S PAINT (20k), BOYD FRONT/REAR END (20k), CHASSIS/WHEELS/TIRES (15k) AND THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION (15k) YOU WOULD BE AT $165,000 WITH NO FINAL LABOR, ADDITIONAL PARTS COSTS OR ADDITIONAL PLATING.
