This toy was sold via the JC Penney catalog in the late 60s. My uncle had it and I remember playing with it when I was little...what can I say I preferred his old toys over the girly crap everyone else tried to shove at me. I have all of his toys now including his GI Joe'.

When Ford introduced the 2005 GT, they gave the media a replica GT40 Le Mans car knockoff. Later they were involved in auctioning off 2,004 1:18 models of the original 2004 Ford GT prototype/showcar, signed by Bill Ford, for charity. This is #1560 of 2004, along with the knockoff, in my office. Martyn Schorr

THE classic sixties model kit of all time, and a Christmas present in 1965. My first big scale build after all those Monogram, AMT, and Revell 1/24 scale models. Lindberg introduced a level of complexity that challenged even the best builders of the time.

The 1960s were the golden age of model kit building for youngsters and adults alike. Monogram created a number of fantastic scale creations including a series of classic cars. This 1934 Duesenberg SJ "Torpedo" phaeton was among the most popular. Others in the series included Cord 812, Rolls Royce PII, Mercedes 540K, and Bugatti Type 35B.
