I fell in love with Aston Martins after the Bond flicks of the 1960s, seeing the real deal at the 1965 New York World's Fair, then joining the AMOC late seventies in pursuit of my own noble steed. A visit with a Toronto friend mid 1980s led me to a fabulous 1959 DB4 Series 1, # DB4/134/L to be precise. It served as our wedding carriage and all around higher education into the realm of "proper" motor cars. What a ride!

In the fall of 1983 I purchased a 1966 Jaguar XK-E roadster from a doctor in Lynnfield, MA. I worked at DEC in Tewksbury, MA at the time. Despite crapping compression she ran like crazy but I couldn't leave enough alone so out came the motor. Yours truly on the right.

Chryslers from the sixties and seventies road like nothing else. Torsion bar suspension assured firm and precise handling. I purchased this 1969 300 440 TNT convertible at the RM Hershey auction in 2007. Gorgeous bronze metallic and matching original interior and original black top. These marked the era of "fuselage" styling. What lacked in chrome and excess was more than compensated with sheer mass. Go big or go home!

Here I am with our family's 1950 2-1/2 litre Riley around 1978. Freshly repainted in Ditzler acrylic lacquer, a new top, and freshened up interior. Dad bought her new in 1950 and it was my first rideāas a newborn arriving home from the hospital.

Long before I came on the scene my father owned this fabulous 1928 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 supercharged fixed head coupe, body by Touring. Allegedly purchsed new by a member of Mussolini family. Sadly, chassis and body were separated during the 1980s but the original coupe body survives on another grand touring chassis. The original chassis was cut down into a grand sport replica.

My first car (like this one) thanks to a loan co-signed by my parents, a 1977 VW Rabbit in "Panama Brown," but more like orange. Mine was second hand purchased around 1979 and little did I know at the time that the 77 Rabbit was the best year for all around driveability. She served me well until replaced by a 1986 Ford Taurus MT5. Bet you don't know what MT5 signified?!
