David Cadorette, 48, a business consultant and vice president of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association from Amherst, N.H., on his 1942 Jeep, as told to A.J. Baime:

I can't tell you the number of times that a veteran has come up to me and said, "My Goodness, I haven't ridden in one of those since 1945."

I bought my Jeep in 1995 from a gentleman in Connecticut for $4,500. I was able to determine that it was built at a Ford factory in Louisville, Ky., and delivered to the military on Nov. 9, 1942. When I set out to do a restoration, I wanted it to be as historically accurate as possible. So I went to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich., and to the National Archives in College Park, Md., where there are a lot of archival photos. For me, it was fascinating detective work.

I worked with a restorer named Jim Boltrom in Ashley Falls, Mass. We found original hardware, and if we couldn't find it, we built it out of 1942 sheet metal. The job took five years.

Between the research and the stories veterans share, you get a sense of what it was like to operate the vehicle under extraordinary circumstances. And it reinforces the responsibility you feel, to be a proper caretaker for this important historical artifact.

Is this a field of dreams or the worst nightmare? "A pair of gentlemen who wish to be known as Peanut and Slim, from the town of Farmville, Va., (yes, really) are holding a sale of some muscle cars they've got in a barn. The cars in the barn in question are mostly Mopars, but apparently there are also hundreds of cars outside, enough to be spotted easily in satellite footage.

Judging from the photos, there are over 200 cars on the property in conditions ranging from salvage to body shell. The seller claims to have about 400 cars on offer, though we could spot only about 200 in the satellite photo. The sellers have a little more than 40 cars and body shells inside the barn, virtually all of them being 1960s and 1970s Chryslers, Dodges, and Plymouths in varying conditions. A number of engines will also be available. Cars claimed to be offered as complete include a 1970 Dodge Challenger, for which the sellers are asking $5,500, a 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner, and a 1971 Dodge Demon. Most of the cars inside appear to be projects.

The sale is planned for Jan. 18, from 9:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m (ET)., and it doesn't appear that it will be held by an auction company or have any kind of organized format. The sellers also do not state what documentation will be provided with the cars that are sold, only mentioning that this is a cash sale. So if you're planning to show up, you can probably expect some wheelin' and dealin.' Also, it might not be a bad idea to wear rubber boots if you're planning to tour the property; this is Virginia in January. Accommodations around Farmville, Va., will probably not be booked in advance, and don't expect any hospitality tents unless Dunkin' Donuts a few miles away counts as a hospitality tent."

Doug Rose and The Green Mamba Jet Car have been burning up the tracks for over 35 years.

Doug Rose started driving Jet Powered cars back in 1962 When Walt Arfons Hired Doug to drive the famed Green Monster Jet Car. Doug set track records with Green Monster from one end of the country to the other. Until Doug had a near fatal accident when his Jet Car hit a guardrail in 1966, as a result of the accident Doug lost both of his legs.

Doug decided the accident was not going to stop him from doing what he loved to-do best, and that was driving fast cars and setting track records. So Doug built The Green Mamba Jet powered Car. Through the years Doug won over 3,700 races, and was the National Jet Car Champion 11 times.

Doug is pushing now 70 years old and yet he still entertains his fans across the country by burning cars with the Green Mamba Jet Car.

Ky and Doug used to tour together during the seventies, and early eighties and have remained friends ever since. Every year Doug brings his Green Mamba jet car to Minnesota Where Ky Lives, to put on a half time show on at Raceway park.

Doug Chains a full size car to The Green Monster. Then fires up the jet engine. When engine gets up to the right temperature Doug turns on the after burner. The car turns into a ball of fire. After about 30 seconds the car starts melting, sparks, and car parts, fly hundreds of feet into the air. This is one of the most awesome displays of power I have ever seen.

The Green Monster is powered by a J46 jet engine out of a Navy F7U Cutlass Fighter Plane. The engine burns 37 Gallons of Jet fuel a minuet. The Car weighs 3,318 pounds and has a top speed of over 300 MPH.

Henry "Smokey" Yunick (May 25, 1923 – May 9, 2001) was an American mechanic and car designer associated with motorsports. Yunick was deeply involved in the early years of NASCAR, and he is probably most associated with that racing genre. He participated as a racer, designer, and held other jobs related to the sport, but was best known as a mechanic, builder, and crew chief.
Yunick was twice NASCAR mechanic of the year; and his teams would include 50 of the most famous drivers in the sport, winning 57 NASCAR Cup Series races, including two championships in 1951 and 1953.
He was renowned as an opinionated character who "was about as good as there ever was on engines", according to Marvin Panch, who drove stock cars for Yunick and won the 1961 Daytona 500. His trademark white uniform and battered cowboy hat, together with a cigar or corncob pipe, were a familiar sight in the pits of almost every NASCAR or Indianapolis 500 race for over twenty years. During the 1980s, he wrote a technical column, "Track Tech", for Circle Track magazine. In 1990, he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.

You probably have seen the video of Amy picking up her Lamborghini Gallardo from her last trip to the states. Although she loves that, her dream car has always been the Audi R8! A week after getting back to the states she tracked down the perfect car and started making plans for a very unique look. We picked the car up from Lamborghini Carolinas and dropped it off the next day at Carbon Wraps (http://on.fb.me/YzQzbs) in Orlando, FL. Steve put in many 3AM nights over the course of a few weeks to get the car looking like a factory job! Every panel was removed and done completely right - HIGHLY recommend them if you're thinking of a wrap. She then finished it off with satin black 20" B18 Modulare Wheels. Amy couldn't be happier with how the car came out! Congrats on buying yourself your 2nd supercar by 22 babe :-) Super proud!

What does Amy do? Check out her company http://Infinite-Prosperity.com/?y
