Interesting plan. BMW will offer gas powered i3 to buyers who need to use there car for longer than the 80-100 mile EV range. However, I feel that if you can afford to buy the i3 EV, you probably have another car or two kicking around, so this might be more advertizing than meeting consumer demand

Check out a recent post on this site about the fallacy of green machine production saving the planet. Environmental harm due to battery production itself is enough to erase any gains supposedly provided from hybrids. At it takes fossil fuels to make batteries!
