1957 Panhard Dyna Z
ID # 1038497
As one of the two oldest manufactures of automobiles in the world, Panhard and Levassor of Paris presented in early 1954 a new Dyna model called the 54 and 56. Constructed of aluminum and having a total weight of 1630 Lbs, even lighter than a VW of the time. There were very few cars that had the combination of interior room, trunk space, styling, and most importantly the power plant that was performance based. With four doors and two large bench seats it was well suited as a family car. Being a light car and having a 50 Bhp two cylinder engine gave enough power along with plenty of fuel economy to make this unique front wheel drive car desirable to the American market.

Dennis Pittsenbarger strolls through thousands of hot rods at the University of Texas in Arlington on the kick-off of Power Tour 2013 presented by Chevrolet Performance. We covet the giant hot wheels in the Chevrolet Performance booth, bench race the numbers on the Lucas Oil dyno and roll past Camaros, surf wagons and one-off trucks and rat rods, including a turbo-charged '29 Model A! After a drive-in movie the gang hits the road in a Dodge Challenger, leaving tons of tire smoke behind as they head for Texarkana. In Arkansas there are more cars, more engines and more burnouts, and there's still a week more to come!
HOT ROD Power Tour is HOT ROD Magazine in action, a week-long roadtrip where readers, racers, and manufacturers hit the back roads of America to show everyone what being a car-nut is all about. More at

Blastolene B-702. These are the same guys that built Jay Leno’s Blastolene Special. This custom hot rod is 20 feet long [±6m] and nearly 9 feet wide [±2.7]. It is powered by 700 cubic V12 GMC truck heart back from 60s mated to a Allison 4-speed gearbox. You can’t say it has very unique design having in mind custom Streamliner or Auburn cars, but it is seriously respectful peace of art.
