That Good Gulf Gasoline in Atlanta, Georgia: Today we have the service station equivalent of “Rosie the Riverter”. With literally millions of men away from home and serving in the armed forces during World War II, women stepped up to fill jobs that would have been almost unthinkable just a few years before. This was the scene at T.C. Gilbert’s Gulf station in Atlanta, Georgia in 1943. See it and over 30 pages of gas station photos @ http://theoldmotor.com/?cat=17

I'm a "Gulf" guy to this day thanks to living right next door to our hometown Gulf station in Andover, MA. I'd push my go-kart over for a fuel-up then a few quick laps in the public parking lot! Still have the go-kart! See this related post: http://www.pixacar.com/pin/7651/
