If you’re the type of person that prefers to make their own path regardless of where the paved road ends, then this 2012 Rally Fighter might be the car for you. With 20 inches travel, nearly 450HP, and a manually adjustable dual ride height, there are not a lot of places that the Rally Fighter can’t go.

The unique part of acquiring a Rally Fighter is you are incorporated into the building of the vehicle. The team at Local Motors will invite you out to their headquarters to work with a team of experts to design and build your Fighter.

This particular Rally Fighter was built for, and is being offered up by one of the greatest NASCAR crew chiefs of all time: Ray Evernham. The 2012 Rally Fighter has been driven scarcely and boasts only 470 miles on the odometer.

What appears to be two-tone paint is actually a vinyl wrapped exterior that is as durable as it is eye-popping. By choosing to go with a vinyl exterior, Local Motors claim they save 12 pounds over choosing to paint each vehicle. Vinyl also gives the customer a blank canvas to make their Rally Fighter stand out.

Powering the Rally Fighter is a GM LS3 E-Rod 376ci all aluminum V8 that produces 430 horsepower at 5,900 RPMS. The T400 automatic transmission sends the power to a Ford 9” with a 4.11 gears. Incredibly, the Rally Fighter is also Approved as 50 state emissions-compliant!

While the engine is capable of sitting you back in your seat, the real winner might be the suspension underneath the ride. At nearly 70 inches tall, the Rally Fighter has one mighty tough suspension underneath it to tackle any environment you want throw at it. Open the hood and you’ll see King coilover shocks with piggyback reservoirs that are equipped on both the front and rear. But it doesn’t stop there, billet upper and lower front control arms ensure that no hill will get the best of the Fighter. This all combines, to give the Fighter an unbelievable 20 inches of travel!

At the back of the car you will find a reverse triangulated four link rear suspension housing the rear-end. 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac’s can be found at each corner providing excellent grip regardless of the environment.

Inside the Rally Fighter you don’t feel like you are in an off-road machine. Instead you’ll find beautiful black bucket seats, air conditioning, and a GPS built into the dash.

You don’t have to be an off-roading fan to appreciate the engineering behind this Rally Fighter. It packs nearly 450hp, has an incredible suspension, and is a fun ride on or off the pavement.

Anticipated Sale Price: $100,000.00 to $125,000.00

THIS VEHICLE IS AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH OUR CHARLOTTE AUCTION, OCTOBER 31ST - NOVEMBER 3RD. TO BID, PLEASE REGISTER AT THE RKM COLLECTOR CAR WEBSITE OR CALL 704.235.0746 FOR MORE DETAILS.

1937 Mercedes-Benz 230 N Roadster

55 bhp, 2,229 cc overhead-valve inline six-cylinder engine, four-speed manual transmission, transverse leaf-spring front suspension, dual half swing axle rear suspension, and four-wheel drum brakes. Wheelbase: 2,700 mm

In many ways, Mercedes-Benz was amongst the most democratic of the European auto manufacturers in the 1930s. No matter what model was selected, whether it was the smaller 230, the mid-range 320, or the massive top-of-the-line 500 K or 540 K, it combined innovative, sophisticated engineering with a wide range of striking, beautifully built bodywork. The buyer who could not afford a 540 K could instead purchase a 230 N and order it with factory-built roadster bodywork that was sporty and even sexy.

The 230 N of 1937 that is offered here, delivered through the Daimler-Benz Munich branch in September 1937, is one such car, and it incorporates several features new to that year’s model, including all-round independent suspension, a longer wheelbase, and an enlarged, more powerful engine that enabled a top speed of 116 km/h. It is one of the very nicest restorations in this collection, and it appears to have been done to European concours standards, with excellent glossy scarlet paint, red steel wheels with classic Mercedes-Benz star hubcaps, cream leather upholstery, and a tan top and carpeting, all of which are in very good condition throughout. Typical of German cars of this era, the dashboard is beautifully appointed with clear, well-laid out gauges that are surrounded by a Bakelite switchgear. The wheels are shod in Excelsior tyres, the engine breathes through a stainless steel exhaust, and a rumble seat provides the opportunity for sporty passengers to ride along.

All of the work on this ground-up restoration was executed to extremely high standards, which is obvious upon examination. Only detailing would be required to continue to prepare the car for future showing as one of the most dashing offerings from Mercedes-Benz in this period.

The Tesla Model S Is So Safe It Broke the Crash-Testing Gear.

The Tesla Model S may be the safest vehicle ever tested by the feds. So safe, in fact, that according to the automaker, the all-electric sedan broke the testing equipment at an independent commercial facility.

Most cars get five stars in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s frontal crash protection test and four stars for side impact protection. But the Model S aced them all: front, side, pole, and rollover. And Tesla adds in its announcement that during a previous roof crush test used during validation, the machine failed while applying more than 4 G’s of pressure — the same as stacking four of the electric sedans on top of the car without the roof breaking.

When NHTSA added up all the scores, it totaled a combined five stars across the board — one of the highest ever recorded for a production vehicle.

The reason for the insanely high marks isn’t just the stiff structure, but the electric drivetrain. With no engine up front taking up valuable crumple zone space, Tesla’s engineers were able to maximize the amount of sacrificial space, and with the battery mounted oh-so-low in the floor, that increases rigidity around the occupants. The rear crash test — particularly important given the rear-facing child jump seats — was another high score, with no “permanently disabling injury to the third row occupants” thanks in part to what Tesla calls a “double bumper” to absorb additional impact.

And before you ask, the lithium-ion battery handled it all with aplomb, with no leakage or fire.

Bidding now at $69,000 on eBay. Here's the seller's description:

1958 Mercedes 190 SL Roadster: Solid Arizona car; factory-original floor metal; numbers-matching engine and transmission; fully restored. All work recently performed: new base/clear paint in the factory color, new leather interior, new Coker factory reproduction tires, new canvas top, new exhaust -new new new - too much to list. This fine early Mercedes SL was stored in a Scottsdale, Arizona, garage for several decades, and not driven since the 1980's. We purchased the car last year and proceeded with a full restoration: The entire car was dismantled and the undercarriage was dry-ice blasted before work began; all panels were hand-dollied and hand-blocked prior to painting; every panel was wet-sanded and polished prior to reassembly; and all body rubbers and seals were replaced new upon reassembly. The entire interior is likewise brand-new, all mechanical systems were refurbished where needed, no expense spared. This car shows and drives superb, a beautiful restored driver that will retain its value, and draw appreciation wherever it goes. This is not an older restoration with chipped paint, aged rubbers, and worn leather - this work is all brand-new with no signs of wear.

10 Cars Being Given to William and Kate's Baby Boy.

Though born of the same species, you have nothing in common with the Royal Baby. When you were a kid, you almost certainly received some Hot Wheels as a gift. If you were lucky maybe you got a pedal car, Cozy Coupe or, if your parents were really feeling generous, a Power Wheels Jeep (and/or Barbie Corvette).

As the Royal Baby was born to the House of Windsor, however, his childhood rides promise to be, without question, vastly superior. For instance, his great uncle Prince Andrew as a boy received a one-off Aston Martin DB5 complete with James Bond gadgets, created specially at Aston's Newport Pagnell factory. In 1988, his father Prince William was given a 4/7th-scale Aston Martin V8 Volante powered by a 160cc Honda engine and outfitted with genuine Connolly leather.

In these days of grotesquely spoiled children, though, our sources in London are reporting that the world's celebrities, dignitaries and general wealthy elite have doted upon His Royal Highness, Prince TBA, actual full-size motor vehicles in lieu of oh-so-gauche toy cars. These are the cars for the Royal Baby that we hear are being added to the Buckingham Palace nursery motor pool.

1960 Aston Martin DB4GT ZAGATO RECREATION - $2,400,000.00

INCREDIBLE RESTORATION 1960 ASTON MARTIN DB4GT ZAGATO 5 SPEED AIR CONDITIONED

HAND-CRAFTED ALUMINUM BODY BUILT SUPERCHARGED DB7 MOTOR

WHEN THE SULTAN OF BRUNEI AND HIS BROTHER PRINCE JEFFRI WERE BUYING ANY AND
EVERYTHING THEY WANTED, THEIR AUTOMOTIVE COLLECTION WAS GROUPING TOGETHER
THE BEST CARS FROM EVERY PERFORMANCE BRAND. THIS INCLUDED SEVERAL CUSTOM BUILT
ASTON MARTINS INCLUDING A VANTAGE SPECIAL SERIES I. TAKING ALMOST ALL OF IT'S
CUES FROM THE CLASSIC DB4 ZAGATO, THESE MODERN INTERPRETATIONS WERE SKETCHED
OUT SPECIFICALLY FOR THE SULTAN MIMICKING THE 1961 RACE CAR WHICH WAS SENT TO
TURIN AND BODIED BY SPECIALIST COACHBUILDER ZAGATO. OF THE ORIGINAL 19 BUILT.

WE, THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THIS PROJECT, STARTED OUT TRYING TO FORM A MORE PERFECT
UNION BY COMBINING THE PAST WITH THE PRESENT (AS DID THE SULTAN OF BRUNEI). IT
WAS A SIMPLE, YET AMBITIOUS PREMISE. TAKE THE ELEGANCE AND TIMELESS STYLING OF A
1960 ASTON MARTIN DB4GT ZAGATO, MERGE IT WITH THE POWER & ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
OF A PRESENT DAY ASTON THUS CREATING THE ABSOLUTE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. THIS CAR
WOULD HAVE THE LOOK OF ONE OF THE RAREST & HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER CARS IN THE WORLD
ALONG WITH THE DRIVABILITY OF SOME OF THE TOP RATED SPORTS CARS AVAILABLE TODAY.

PLANNING WAS METICULOUS AND THOROUGH. FIRST, WE HAD TO BUILD A COMPLETE NEW
ALUMINUM BODY, INCLUDING THE ZAGATO COACHWORK. THE FRAME WAS SENT TO WORLD
RENOWNED COACHBUILDER, CLIVE SMART, AT THE SHAPECRAFT FACILITY IN NEWPORT PAGNELL,
ENGLAND. THERE, THE ASTON BODY WAS METICULOUSLY CRAFTED OUT OF NOTHING MORE THAN
PREMIUM ALUMINUM AND THE SKILL OF THE ARTIST'S HANDS MANIPULATING THEIR ENGLISH
WHEELS. STATESIDE, PLANS WERE ENGINEERED TO ACCOMMODATE A SUPERCHARGED DB7 WITH
A 5 SPEED GETRAG TRANSMISSION FROM AN ALFRED DUNHILL EDITION. THEN ANOTHER SLOW
BOAT BACK TO THE U.S.A. WHERE ASSEMBLY OF THE ENGINE, ELECTRONICS, UPHOLSTERY,
EXHAUST, SUSPENSION, ETC. BEGAN. WHEN IT WAS ALL COMPLETE AND THE LAST LITTLE
BIT OF PERFECTION HAD BEEN LAVISHED ON IT - WE DECIDED TO MARKET THE CAR.

THAT IN AND OF ITSELF WAS NOT EASY AS, AFTER ALL, WE HAD CREATED THIS CAR OUT OF NOTHING.
HOWEVER, AS UNCOMFORTABLE A NOTION AS SELLING MAY HAVE BEEN, IT WAS NOTHING COMPARED
TO WHAT WAS JUST AROUND THE CORNER. AFTER WE UNVEILED OUR CREATION THROUGH SEVERAL
WEBSITES AND eBAY, WE WERE BLINDSIDED BY SOMETHING TOTALLY UNEXPECTED. SOMEONE FROM
HALFWAY AROUND THE WORLD WAS CLAIMING TO HAVE ANOTHER ASTON WITH OUR SAME V.I.N.
PLATE. WE WERE DUMBFOUNDED AND DEVASTATED AS WE HAD NEARLY 40 YEARS OF TITLE AND
OWNERSHIP HISTORY. WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CEASE MARKETING UNTIL WE COULD UNRAVEL
THE TRUTH. TO THIS DAY WE HAVE NEVER SEEN A SINGLE PICTURE OF THIS "OTHER" CAR OR ONE
SHRED OF EVIDENCE THAT OURS IS NOT THE GENUINE ARTICLE. BUT IN THE INTERESTS OF
FAIRNESS TO A POTENTIAL BUYER, REPUTATIONS, EXORBITANT INTERNATIONAL LITIGATION
COST AND WHO KNOWS HOW MUCH LOST TIME, WE FELT THE ETHICAL & LOGICAL THING TO
DO WAS REVEAL THE FACTS OF WHAT WE KNEW. WITH MUCH ANGUISH WE SECURED AN
UNENCUMBERED TITLE WITH A NEW V.I.N. PLATE ISSUED BY THE STATE OF TEXAS.

SINCE THAT TIME WE HAVE LEARNED THAT RECORD KEEPING IN THOSE EARLY DAYS AT
ASTON WAS NOT EFFICIENT AND DUPLICATE V.I.N. PLATES WERE NOT UNHEARD OF.
WE BELIEVE THIS CAR TO BE THE GENUINE ARTICLE,
BUT WE KNOWIT IS 100% ASTON MARTIN.

"The most successful of Hungarian motorcycles - and unfortunately the last, was Pannonia. The production on Pannonia motorcycles began in Budapest in 1954, when the factory changed, to promote sales and export, the old product name "Csepel" to Pannonia which cross-refers to ancient Roman times."
