We have come to learn through our own mistakes, that when you have a chance to buy a great find, don’t hesitate and don’t delay. Reader Jim C. found that out for himself recently. For years he had seen this DeTomaso Pantera hiding under a cover in one of his neighbor’s driveway. He stopped on several occasions and knocked on the owner’s door, but never got an answer. Finally after all these years, he saw the owner out with the Pantera, so he stopped and talked to him about it. After having it for 15 years, he was finally thinking of selling it, but wouldn’t give Jim a price. Story continued...

The story of a car, the same model used by Tazio Nuvolari on the circuit of Torino during the Coppa Brezzi in 1946. A car kept coming out from time to remember the deeds of a myth: Tazio Nuvolari.

Derelict 1953 Porsche 356 Pre A Coupe for sale on eBay. According to Porsche, this car was originally Ivory. We have found evidence of original green interior. Confirmed by Porsche to be the correct color. The Michigan title shows P31331. Porsche tells us that that is the correct engine number. In the mid to late 60's this car received a new engine. The engine is still in the car and has no numbers stamped on it. The car was last moved under it's own power in the mid 70's, sitting outside until 2000. It ha since been put in the garage where you see it now.

This car shows very little damage. Only a small fender bender in the rear between the taillights. The rest of the car shows no impact damage anywhere. The red doors, deck lid, and seats are not original to this car. The original radio was taken out in the 70's and stored inside all these years. The 16" wheels are dated 1 of 53 on three of them, the fourth wheel we cannot see the date. What you see in these pictures is what comes with the car. If other parts are found as the garage is cleaned out we will try to include them. Opening bid $50K.

It is not often that I get to spend so much time with one amazing car. During this trip I have been fortunate enough to spend some time with the new owner of this Skyline, Eric Bauer. Going back to where we left off testing at Miller Motorsports Park, Eric flew to the JDM Legends shop in Salt Lake City and drove his car back to Southern California. This special car couldn't be in better hands. Not only does Eric do 3D modeling for most of the various automakers around the world, he also teaches at the Art Center College of Design and helps prepare the future generations of auto designers. It is nice to know that such a special car has landed in special hands.
In filming this episode we were able to use the Art Center building as a backdrop which seemed equally fitting for shooting this Skyline. Also we were able to take the car up the magnificent Angeles Crest Highway for some spirited driving. Hearing the sound echo off the mountain walls is a sound to behold. Eric has a lot of love for this car and is a twelve year story in the making. Eric is all about driving the Skyline as often as he can and I can see why. Every ride consists of waves, honks, pictures, smiles, and conversation. This Skyline is the ultimate magnet and even those who aren't into cars can tell that it is something special. The joy that it brings to Eric is infectious and you can't help but smile in watching. Here is to many years of this car cruising around SoCal and to the glorious sound that follows.
We have set out on our journey across the USA. Join us over at the site and Facebook to find out where we currently are! If you have any car stories along our path please contact me.

When our friends at Bentley Motors hit us up with the chance to go for a spin in the super charged 1930 Bentley Blower around New York City we grabbed our camera and headed for a cruise. The Blower, brought over from England for a little tour in the States, is a true classic head turner. Capable of speeds up to 100mph, taking this $6-8 million dollar beauty out on the streets of New York was a perfect way to spend a Fall morning in NY.
