Bert Straus, 77, an industrial designer from Baltimore, on his twin 1960 Alfa Romeo Giuliettas, as told to A.J. Baime:

Since Alfa Romeo left the American market in 1995, fans in this country have had their hopes dashed year after year by false promises that the Italian car company would return. But this year, it looks like it's finally going to happen.

My love of Alfa Romeo goes back to childhood. My dad was a car importer in Erie, Pa., during the postwar years. Dad would pay people $50 to pick up cars in New York and drive them 430 miles back to Erie. When I turned 16, I got to do it. I drove early MGs, Sunbeams, Austin-Healeys, Porsches. I had never seen an Alfa Romeo in person when he brought in his first one, around 1957. I fell in love with the car and I've never tired of it.

I own two 1960 Alfas—a Giulietta Spider [convertible] and a Giulietta Sprint [coupe]. The name is an Italian reference to Juliet, to go with the Romeo in Alfa Romeo. I bought both mine over 30 years ago, and I drive them anytime there's nothing falling from the sky—no rain, no snow. Both have over 300,000 miles on them. They're like children; you can't favor one over the other.

So will I buy one of the new Alfas that are supposed to arrive later this year in America? Who knows? I just might.

Not sure how I feel about this, but the 2014 Corvette Shooting Brake is a GO.

What's better than the 2014 Corvette? A 2014 Corvette shooting brake, that's for sure. And next year, it can really happen.

Callaway teased its AeroWagon version of the C7 way back in March, but they made it official Tuesday with the order form and the pricing. The conversion to shooting brake form will cost $15,000 in addition to the price of the new Corvette. But that's only if you're OK with the "natural carbon fiber finish" of the hatch addition. Getting it painted in the color of your 'Vette will cost an extra $1,500.

You may not have a fully built NASCAR machine, but you can drop the same motor into your Pinto, if you so choose. It'll cost you $18,000.

Buick is celebrating it's 110th year of continuous production, including WW II military projects. Included is the incredibly fast (60 mph) M-18 Hellcat Tank Destroyer. It was designed in Harley Earl's studio, including it's wildcat emblem: Seek, Strike, Destroy! You never know where you might find a car. Take this 1970 Plymouth Superbird for example. Apparently the owner keeps it parked under a carport next to their trailer house. They have owned it for over 30 years, but have decided that they would would rather have some land or a Viper… So they have listed it here on craigslist for $85k!

Supposedly this winged Plymouth has only 56k miles on the odometer. It is a 440 car, but we are not sure if it is equipped with the 375hp 4-barrel or the 390hp six-pack. It does have the 4-speed though. The seller mentions that they restored it once, but the paint job has since gone bad and they just don’t have time to fix it. This could be a great opportunity to pick up a Superbird, but proceed with caution and remember to never send anyone money without making sure everything is legit.
